"What I’ve found with racism in Australia is that there are isolated and one-off incidents, but wider Australia is appalled by it. The reaction against a racist act is always quick and severe. The Cronulla riots in 2005 are a good example. A few incidents had occurred to set off a group of young men who got drunk, draped the Australian flag on their shoulders and began bashing anyone of Middle Eastern appearance. When the rest of Australia saw this, the wave of disgust was enormous and all-encompassing."

Was Jesus a Rebel or a Revolutionary?
Jesus would mingle with Sinners, Gentiles, Tax Collectors, Samaritans, Lepers and spoke to Women in public during the day.
Throughout the Gospels Jesus challenges the rituals of the Jewish faith and instead focuses on God’s love and compassion. This put him offside with the Romans and the Jewish leaders alike.
In your exercise books:
1. Define 'rebel'
2. Define 'revolutionary'
You will work in pairs to answer the question: Was Jesus a rebel or revolutionary?
You are to create a news report on whether or not Jesus was a rebel or a revolutionary. You can EITHER create a newspaper article OR an iMovie
You will firstly:
1. Research your decision
2. Organise your ideas accordingly.
Newspaper article: One page minimum.
iMovie: 2 minutes minimum.
Discuss the following quote with the class:
“Someone once said that ‘a rebel attempts to change the past; a revolutionary attempts to change the future.’ Jesus Christ brought drastic change to the world. Change to humanity’s view of God. Change to God’s view of humankind. Change to men’s view of women. Our Lord came to bring radical change to the old order of things, replacing it with a new order. He came to bring forth a new covenant-a new kingdom-a new birth-a new race-a new species-a new culture-and a new civilization.“
